*Update* Join me in Helping out an Elementary School in Need

Sunday, March 28th was the one year anniversary of the mine subsidence at the Benld School. They are currently in 10th place but there is only one day of voting left. Only the top two vote getters will get the 250K. This contest Pepsi is putting on ends Wednesday, March 31st. You can vote once a day, so take advantage and help them get the funds needed to rebuild their school.
____________________________
Here is your chance to Pay It Forward and help a local elementary school.

On March 28th, 2009 Benld Elementary suffered a tragic event, leaving over 700 students without a school. For those who do not know, Benld is located in Macoupin County, apx 45 miles south of Springfield.

Without any warning mine subsidence took the school forcing it to be condemned. The walls and floors in the school have cracked and are still sinking and causing the building to torn apart at all ends.

While the school system has been able to relocate students to Gillespie and place them in temporary modular classrooms the students need a place they can call their own.

The community has been working together to find land and rebuild. Which is where you come in. Pepsi is giving $250,000 to one deserving school and with your help they will be able to rebuild and have a place to call home.

Can you imagine one more deserving than Benld Elementary?

Please join me in voting for Benld Elementary by visiting facebook, it does not cost you a cent only a second of your time to vote and another second to pass this information to friends and family.

Together we can make this happen for the children of the Benld School District.

Vote Here

Pepsi Refresh Project for Elementary School

Margie, My Springfield Mommy, recently told me about this Pepsi Refresh Project going on through March 31, 2010 and how a school in Illinois could really use our votes.

On March 28th, 2009 Benld Elementary in Macoupin County, Illinois (about 45 miles south of Springfield) suffered a tragic event, leaving over 700 students without a school. Without any warning mine subsidence took the school forcing it to be condemned. The walls and floors in the school have cracked and are still sinking and causing the building to be torn apart at all ends. The whole community has been working together to find land and rebuild. While the school system has been able to relocate students to Gillespie and place them in temporary modular classrooms the students need a place they can call their own.

Which is where we come in. Pepsi is giving $250,000 to one deserving school and with our help they will be able to rebuild and have a place to call home. Can you imagine one more deserving than Benld Elementary? This is the only school for miles in a very small town. Margie's daughter will be attending this school in a couple of years, so it is very dear to our hearts!

Please join me in voting for Benld Elementary by visiting facebook, it won't cost you anything but a minute of your time to vote and to pass it on to friends and family. Together we can make this happen for the children of the Benld School District.

This is such an easy way to help pay it forward and help out an Elementary School in great need. Thank you for your support - it will make a difference. Click here to Vote!

The Pepsi Refresh Project is an amazing grant program. There are six categories for the grants - Health, Arts and Culture, Food and Shelter, The Planet, Neighborhoods, and Education. Non-profits can apply for a $5000, $25,000, $10.000, or a $250,000 grant. Visit here to see all the amazing projects you can help on a local level with a simple click.
